Introduction to Module 2: Becoming an OMA Artist

In this section you will engage in some art making and learn the key principles for designing and evaluating failure-free art projects for people living with dementia. These principles distinguish OMA programming from the typical arts and crafts activities found in most retirement communities. You will also have the opportunity to create an OMA art piece using these principles and share your work with others in your group.

Although OMA has plenty of piloted art projects for you to use, it is important for you to know what went into designing these OMA art projects. Knowing these principles will also allow you to design your own OMA art projects once you have used up all the ones we designed for you.
