Facilitator Training

The OMA Facilitator Training prepares artists, aging and healthcare professionals, activity directors, and educators to implement the program in their communities.

About the Training

During this program, attendees will:

  • Find out the why, what, and how of implementing the award-winning, evidence-based OMA program.
  • Participate in an OMA activity with older adults living with dementia.
  • Reflect on the OMA art-making sessions and process, and engage in practical discussions.
  • Receive the OMA Handbook containing training content, guidelines for 20 OMA-tested art activities, OMA evaluation tools, and more.
  • Engage in hands-on practicum in the roles of the OMA Volunteer, the OMA Artist, and the OMA Facilitator in collaboration with other trainees. (In-person training only)
  • Receive online listing as a certified OMA site
  • Receive post-training implementation support from the OMA Trainers and the global OMA Community.

Cost

$1,000 per person

Certified Member Facility” is a fee-based membership that is renewable annually and provides members with benefits. At the premium level, organizations can send one individual to training per year at not extra cost.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

A $100 processing fee is included in your registration and is non-refundable.
No refunds will be granted 30 days before the start of training. Granted refunds, minus the $100 processing fee, may take up to 45 days after the request is granted.

Registrations are transferable but must be communicated to the course contact and us at ScrippsOMA@MiamiOH.edu or (513) 529-2914 30 days before the start of training.
