Mark Hierholzer (Virginia, USA) is the Board President & Founder of Art for the Journey. He is an impressionist oil painter, painting figures, portraiture, still life and landscapes, with a special interest in fishing boats and water scenes. In 2014 Mark joined with Cindy Paullin and Jamie Wigginton to found Art for The Journey, a nonprofit with a mission to “overcome barriers and transform lives through creating art”, with a special focus on people who do not normally have access to such experiences. Mark is a Certified Facilitator for OMA, a best practice program specially developed by the Scripps Gerontology Center and Miami University of Ohio for people suffering with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
