One of the goals of the art show is to celebrate the creative capacity of people living with dementia. So, their attendance in the art show is very important. However, for the volunteers, art show attendance is optional.

In the video, each artist was recognized by name and given a packet of their artwork that was not included in the art show.

 Art shows are expensive and time-consuming to prepare. Therefore, it is optional to hold an OMA art show.

It is recommended that an art show date is determined at the beginning of the series of OMA sessions.

Another important element of the art show is the delivery of two letters written and printed by the volunteers. One letter is for the artists, which the volunteers present and read aloud to their partners near the end of the art show program; and the second letter is for the artists’ families. These letters capture the highlights of the OMA sessions from the volunteers’ perspective.

The photo montage (or slide show) with photos/video clips of OMA sessions, artists, volunteers, and artwork, takes time to create. Therefore, it is fine to use video clips found on ScrippsOMA’s website at the art show.
